The Anglican School for Church Planters (ASCP) is a five-day intensive learning experience designed to equip church planters with essential understandings, skills and tools for effective church planting within the Anglican tradition in the 21st century.
Who can participate in the Anglican School for Church Planters?
The Anglican School for Church Planters is designed for church planters who are committed to plant a new church or those exploring the possibility of starting a new church. Church planters already in the early stages of launching a church also are invited to participate.
Participation in ASCP is limited to 25 planters or teams. If married, planters are strongly encouraged to bring their spouse. Planters are asked not to bring their children, as child care is not available. Additionally, a key member of the new church launch team may also attend.
All church planter applicants must participate in AIM Church Planting's assessment process in order to be considered for admission. The minimum prerequisite for participation is the completion of Phases I and II of the church planter assessment. While not required, completion of Phase III is encouraged before attending the Anglican School for Church Planters.
Where and when is the Anglican School for Church Planters?
The Anglican School for Church Planters will be held June 15-19, 2009 on the campus of Christ Church Plano in Plano, TX. Participants should plan to arrive in Plano Sunday evening, June 14, and depart after 4:00 PM June 19. Daily sessions will begin at 8:00 AM and conclude by 5:00 PM. Please plan to attend the complete week of the School. Plano is located north of Dallas and both Love Field Airport and DFW Airport are within a thirty minute drive of the church.
What are the format and content of the Anglican School for Church Planters?
The format of the School includes teaching by a core faculty of experienced and national leaders in church planting including Todd Hunter, Ron McCrary, David Roseberry, and Carol Childress. Additional faculty will include local ministry practiconers and church planters. In addition to core teaching, the week will feature interactive discussion, case studies, field trips and community spiritual disciplines and practices.
The School's content will address the critical issues of developing and multiplying leaders, alignment of philosophy of ministry with vision and values, crafting effective strategy, leading worship, developing an external focus for evangelism and service, community exegesis, spiritual formation and making disciples, preaching and communications, leading change and transition, the new metrics of church planting, self and family care and stewardship.
What is the cost to attend?
Tuition is $300 for the church planter and $150 each for a spouse and/or a team member. Participants must arrange and fund their transportation to the Dallas/Fort Worth area and will also be responsible for pre-work materials to be completed prior to arrival at the School. Housing will be provided in the homes of Christ Church Plano members. Lunch will be provided each day of the school.
